Faith is often portrayed as light, ease, and certainty, but to me, faith is grueling. It asks you to keep going when you cannot see what's ahead. It asks you to trust in what is unseen, even in your hardest moments.
Through this piece, I wanted to reflect that tension: the weight of believing, and the beauty that still comes from it.
The figs symbolize the act of bearing fruit even in uncertainty, a reminder that growth is still happening, even when it isn't visible.
I don't believe faith promises a life of constant happiness. I believe it promises a life of depth, of purpose, and of sanctification, even through difficulty.
