01 — Business School
I grew up in an immigrant household where stability was something you worked hard for. Watching my mom work a lot to provide for us effected the way I thought about my future. I wanted to build a career that would give us security, so I chose to study Finance in college.
I genuinely loved learning about business, money, and how things are built from the ground up. I saw myself not just as someone who wanted a career, but as someone who wanted to eventually build something of my own and help those in my community through financial literacy skills
02 — Finding Social Media
While studying Finance, I started sharing my art and my life online to build myself a community of artist that I didn’t have in real life !
Social media taught me how to tell stories, communicate an idea, build a brand, and connect with people through my work and love of art . I started creating content around my art, but eventually realized that the process of creating and sharing was just as exciting to me as the finished artwork.
It became the bridge between the business side of me and the artist I had always been.
03 — Becoming an Artist
Art has been a part of me since I was young, but for a long time, I never imagined it could be my career. I had spent years learning to create on my own, through trial and error, constantly pushing myself to become better.
Eventually, I realized I didn't have to choose between the things I had learned. I could take everything business school taught me, everything social media taught me, and use it to build a life around the thing I truly loved: making art.
Today, I’m pursuing portrait art full-time, while making content a part of my creative process. I get to create the art, tell the story behind it, build a business around it, and invite people into the process.
